Kathleen Cochran Zimbicki, 2008 MVA, is Honored with a Retrospective Exhibition at SAMA
2008 MVA honoree, Kathleen Zimbicki, is again honored with a retrospective, 45 Years of Color at Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, from May 15, through December 5, 2015. “Pittsburgh artist Kathleen Zimbicki has been painting whimsical, yet highly innovative watercolors for nearly 50 years. Bold and colorful, Zimbicki’s work pushes the boundaries of representational imagery and the watercolor medium itself. Featuring approximately 44 paintings and one drawing, the exhibition surveys the artist’s journey from her early days as a student of Henry Koerner to her most recent forays into a joyful Surrealism that is uniquely her own.”
